Wicked!

Yea! Brady and I FINALLY saw WICKED!!

I have been trying to go for several years. I couldn't get a ticket in Salt Lake City - SOLD OUT!
When it was in Portland, the cost was too high by the time I got there, stayed in a hotel and purchased a ticket for the show.

I called to get tickets when Boise announced it was coming.  The only way I was assured a ticket was to purchase a season ticket for all of the shows. I decided we would risk trying to get a ticket when they were available for Wicked only.

Then my neice Zoey Michelle called and asked if I wanted to go with them. A friend of theirs placed an order for 50 tickets and trying to find 50 people who wanted to go. "A group order before the tickets were available to the public".

I said YES! Yes!! YES!! Count us in. WOO HOO!
The tickets were great! Right in the center of the theater on the floor.

Brandon and Michelle arrived Friday night. We watched The Wizard of Oz that night, to prepare us for WICKED on Saturday.
(Brady has never watched The Wizard of Oz all the way through - I couldn't believe it)
When we arrived the stage was set up like this!
A huge dragon the length of the stage.
When the play started, the dragon came to life. The head went back and forth with smoke coming out of its mouth and glowing eyes with the wings flapping. It was AWESOME!
I listed to the soundtrack for a couple of weeks before going .... to get the music in my mind.

AFTER watching WICKED there is soooo much more clarity to the music on the soundtrack, because now I actually know what is going on in the lyrics.

Before, I was just guessing.
It was humorous, fantastic, wonderful.... we LOVED it!
The scenery was cool! The costumes were beautiful!

As the twists and turns in the story came to life .... I was shocked at how they told the background story to the Wizard of Oz movie. What you "think" is the true Wizard of Oz story - is blown to pieces as the truth comes out. Blows your mind!
I could go see it again and again! I especially loved the music along with the fantastic story line. Totally blown away at the ending. I never would have guess that!
At the end of the show, when the cast came out for the applause .... I was taken back at how small the cast was to put on this huge production. That means each actor played multiple roles. Very talented actors!

Brady said on facebook: SAW WICKED! I looooved it so much. I think I got goosebumps about 12 different times. During the break I got a shirt, which I am wearing tomorrow to rub in everyone's face at school. I didn't cry though =( I was soo expecting to cry. Everything they put in was brilliant, I was so glad to see everything come together, especially the scarecrow, and watching the Wizard of Oz the night before helped a lot.

Michelle said on facebook: Wicked was amazing! I was blessed to see it with my husband, aunt, and cousin! We all had such a good time!!!
Brady's response to Michelle: Aww ♥ I'm glad you were with us when we saw it. It wouldn't have been as fun with just me and my mom :P
I have to add that I LOVED the Morrison Center - where we watched WICKED!
It is a beautiful building.

I've lived in Boise for 13 years and have never been in it. I can't believe it has taken that long for me to attend a production in those walls.

I loved how the seats all slant down to the stage and each seat is off set, so that you see in between people and no head is blocking your view. Next year I think I need to get season tickets and take advantage of this beautiful facility we have here in Boise.

The Morrison Center sits along side the Boise River. It was quite a beautiful sight to see the green trees and watch as the Boise river rushed along the banks from the Morrison Centers court yard.
BEAUTIFUL!
