Yea! Brady and I FINALLY saw WICKED!!
I have been trying to go for several years. I couldn't get a ticket in Salt Lake City - SOLD OUT!
When it was in Portland, the cost was too high by the time I got there, stayed in a hotel and purchased a ticket for the show.
I called to get tickets when Boise announced it was coming. The only way I was assured a ticket was to purchase a season ticket for all of the shows. I decided we would risk trying to get a ticket when they were available for Wicked only.
Then my neice Zoey Michelle called and asked if I wanted to go with them. A friend of theirs placed an order for 50 tickets and trying to find 50 people who wanted to go. "A group order before the tickets were available to the public".
I said YES! Yes!! YES!! Count us in. WOO HOO!
The tickets were great! Right in the center of the theater on the floor.
Brandon and Michelle arrived Friday night. We watched The Wizard of Oz that night, to prepare us for WICKED on Saturday.
(Brady has never watched The Wizard of Oz all the way through - I couldn't believe it)
When we arrived the stage was set up like this!
A huge dragon the length of the stage. When the play started, the dragon came to life. The head went back and forth with smoke coming out of its mouth and glowing eyes with the wings flapping. It was AWESOME!
I listed to the soundtrack for a couple of weeks before going .... to get the music in my mind.
AFTER watching WICKED there is soooo much more clarity to the music on the soundtrack, because now I actually know what is going on in the lyrics.
Before, I was just guessing.
It was humorous, fantastic, wonderful.... we LOVED it!
The scenery was cool! The costumes were beautiful!
As the twists and turns in the story came to life .... I was shocked at how they told the background story to the Wizard of Oz movie. What you "think" is the true Wizard of Oz story - is blown to pieces as the truth comes out. Blows your mind!
I could go see it again and again! I especially loved the music along with the fantastic story line. Totally blown away at the ending. I never would have guess that!
At the end of the show, when the cast came out for the applause .... I was taken back at how small the cast was to put on this huge production. That means each actor played multiple roles. Very talented actors!
