Book Review: Saving Marilee by Annette K. Larson

I just finished reading Saving Marilee by Annette K. Larsen.

A little bit about the book: 

A proper, clean romance. For all those who have suffered in silence, no matter the hardship. Everyone deserves a voice. Marriage wasn't bliss - not for Marilee. Instead of finding contentment with the handsome son of a sovereign duke, she found betrayal and neglect. And Fear. A fear that finally lifts when her husband dies, freeing her from his domineering hand. But freedom alone can't give her peace, and she must battle to regain her love for life, rebuild her happiness, and reclaim the ability to trust. When her charming neighbor intrudes on her quiet life, she must determine whether his interest is genuine, and whether he deserves the fragile bit of trust she has managed to scrape together. However, trusting is a risk, and she has vowed never to put herself at the mercy of someone else's whims. Can Marilee take that chance, knowing how terribly she's chosen before? She doesn't know if she can survive being wrong again. 

I loved the 3rd book in this series.

 2nd book is "Missing Lily". I didn't write a book review, but I loved this book too!

All of the books have a unique storyline and are a complete story with no cliffhanger.  If you have Kindle unlimited both Missing Lily and Saving Marilee are free to read. 

The characters from "Just Ella" and "Missing Lily" show up in the other books, which is fun to hear about their lives going forward. 

Saving Marilee was a good book but very emotional. I cried a lot, which is good because it shows the author was able to pull me into the story line completely. 

I felt her pain and sadness when you realize that you picked the wrong person to be your husband then question your ability to make wise decisions. 

There was a happily ever after, but I wanted more than what we were left with. I hope that in future books we will get more of a glimpse of Marilee's happily ever after and the strong woman she became. It did leave me wanting more of Marilee's story.

We each react to traumatic events according to our individual circumstances and personalities.
