Motivational Monday - "Rights and Obligations"

AMERICA is a unique land of many rights - and obligations.
AMERICANS have the right to go to a church, synagogue or temple - or not go.

----and an obligation to respect this right in others.
AMERICANS have the right to say what they think - individually, or collectively.

--- and an obligation to hold their tongues when it will hurt their country.

AMERICANS have the right to select those in public office.

----and those in public office have an obligation to serve with honesty, integrity, wisdom and selflessness.
AMERICANS have the right of protection for their lives, homes and property.

--and an obligation to respect the laws of the nation.
AMERICANS have the right to enjoy the greatest progress made by any nation on earth.

---and the obligation to do an honest day's work to contribute to that progress.
AMERICANS have the right to enjoy the abundance of this nation.

---and an obligation to share this abundance with those less fortunate.

Americans have many rights -- but also many obligations.
