Wh...I hope you don't get the swine flu either. What an awful thing to catch. We had the flu at our house, but I think it was just influenza.
It is definitely sick season. Good luck!!!Janicehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07576839900525671752noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1454704239804658758.post-48436319766201694292009-10-10T10:39:15.609-06:002009-10-10T10:39:15.609-06:00Actually this swine flu is an H1N1 flu, meaning it...Actually this swine flu is an H1N1 flu, meaning it is a type A flu which is very mild and it is getting milder all the time. Chances are anyone exposed will get it since it is a new strain of flu.

Honestly more people are going to get sick and die with other flu's that go around, meaning type B and C flu.

I'm not sure if I am going to vaccinate my family for this flu since there is benefit to actually getting sick. With the spanish flu in the 1917-1919 the ones that got it early when it was mild, did not contract it when the more virulent form evolved. Vaccines don't provide that kind of protection. I'm sure we will do the regular flu shot since it covers type B flu's and sometimes type C flu's that they think will go around.

Frankly I think there is toooo much hype over this flu when there are more serious illnesses that go around every year.

Just the opinion of your friendly neighborhood nurse blogger. ;)Tigersuehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10375000801423259917noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1454704239804658758.post-29968496332270465772009-10-09T16:16:11.386-06:002009-10-09T16:16:11.386-06:00I'm hoping that I've been "innoculate...I'm hoping that I've been "innoculated" enough in my contact with patients in the ER.
Hope you stay well.Welcome to the Garden of Eganhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10132446191608085958noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1454704239804658758.post-22939702235692993972009-10-09T15:16:27.398-06:002009-10-09T15:16:27.398-06:00I sure hope you don't get it.I sure hope you don't get it.Valeriehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14796161900653422174noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1454704239804658758.post-81074667766008336312009-10-09T12:55:24.474-06:002009-10-09T12:55:24.474-06:00Good luck staying away --- I know that you are doi...Good luck staying away --- I know that you are doing your best to stay healthy. Your so clean.. ...If anyone can avoid it.. you can!
Your so clean.. and you also don't have little kids that cough all over ya.. so you'll probably be fine.

They have started giving the vaccine here in UT. It's a nose mist. I need to get my kids in for the vaccine.. because both Tenney and Mary C are high risk...I'm not sure how to go about it.. since we don't have insurance though..

We'll all have to cross our fingers -- stock up on clorox and hope for the best!Ann Mariehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10374067182519089756noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1454704239804658758.post-71713174951214140062009-10-08T22:29:13.023-06:002009-10-08T22:29:13.023-06:00Oh, I hope you avoid it! The vaccine supply for the public is not supposed to be here for a few more weeks - Yikes! I hope we can hold it off that long. Taylor had the regular 2-3 day flu (fever, body aches) for a couple days but I really do not want the swine - it is supposed to really keep you down for several weeks. Ugh!
Good luck and hope you don't get it.CBhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16911579093553356167noreply@blogger.com
