Count Down to Graduation

My, how the time has flown by. My baby, my last born ....

It doesn't seem possible that Brady is getting ready to graduate from high school.

I am honored to have been his mother. He is a great kid! It has been a blast being part of his life and watching him grow into the man he is becoming.

The last day of school is May 18th for Seniors and Graduation is May 23rd, 2012.

It becomes REAL when his graduation robe arrives. It is shocking that you have to actually buy the robe and it's yours forever. We only got the tassel when I graduated. Weird!
AND the invitations.

It's very exciting.

I've been asked if I am sad.

No, not really.

I'm relieved - I made it - I did it ... He has made it to graduation!

Yea!

As a single mother, my biggest fear is dying before my children are grown. I had to make it until they could stand on their own two feet. I know that sounds morbid, but I never wanted to leave them to live with their fathers (and they didn't want that either).

Also, I have some elation that I did it. As a single woman I did it on my own. I was able to raise my sons to adulthood. We never wanted for food or shelter. I was able to provide a living and give them a great place to live. It's a relief to have been able to do it on my own.

Being a single parent is scary and a lot of responsibility. At times you are burning the rope at both ends. Trying to keep everything together, needs met and bills paid.

Even though it has been hard and challenging ... I wouldn't change a minute of being a mother to my sons.

It will be different when Brady heads off to college and becoming an empty nester. But, now it will be my time to be single and carefree (LOL).

I'm proud of Brady and his diligence in getting a good education and working hard to get straight "A's" through his whole high school experience. He has made great and lasting friends. Most of all, I know he has had a great life and has a wonderful future ahead of him.

Yea for Brady!
