Motivational Monday - "Pride"

I enjoyed the General Relief Society Conference over the weekend. I sure love President Monson! I can't wait until next weekend for General Conference! It is my favorite time of the year, being able to listen to Prophets and Apostles and getting a spiritual infusion!

During church yesterday, the speakers in Sacrament meeting were assigned to speak on "Pride". It was a great meeting and gave me a lot to think about. Here is a quote I found on Pride and felt it was perfect to share today as a Motivational Monday thought.
There is, however, a far more common ailment among us and that is pride from the bottom looking up. It is manifest in so many ways, such as faultfinding, gossiping, backbiting, murmuring, living beyond our means, envying, coveting, withholding gratitude and praise that might lift another, and being unforgiving and jealous.  -President Ezra T. Benson, Oct. 1989

Mother Teresa, a Catholic nun who worked among the poor in India most of her life, spoke this profound truth: “If you judge people, you have no time to love them.” The Savior has admonished, “This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.” I ask: Can we love one another, as the Savior has commanded, if we judge each other? And I answer—with Mother Teresa—“No; we cannot.”

—President Thomas S. Monson

Oh yes! Wasn't the women's session so lovely? I always feel so blessed when I am able to attend. President Monson's talk was great! I loved Sister Beck's because it is always so powerful, Sister Allred's because she is SO cheerful, and Sister's Thompson's because it was so touching. I loved the scripture in Jude. I don't remember reading that one before. Sorry for the novel! Love you!

I too loved the RS Broadcast. Every talk was filled with wisdom and inspiration. I especially love the quote by Mother Teresa.

We learned in Sunday School that the biggest sin of the people of Sodom and Gomorrah was pride. Yikes!
