Idea While Dying Easter Eggs

DYING EASTER EGGS
(I found this on Sugardoodle, I think we'll discuss this while decorating Easter eggs tomorrow and I thought I'd share this idea with you).

There has long been a debate over whether Christians should participate in the dying of Easter eggs. There are ways to make this a teaching and learning experience for our children. Legends from early centuries state that eggs were dyed red with tears of Mary. There is no Biblical evidence of this, but we could dye eggs red to symbolize Jesus' blood.

EGGS can also remind us of the beginning of spring and the start of new life. COLORS have been symbolic in many writings. As you dye your eggs, talk about the symbolism of each of the colors.

YELLOW - SUNSHINE - THE RADIANCE OF JESUS

RED - THE BLOOD OF JESUS

PURPLE - ROYALTY

GREEN - NATURE - LIFE

BLACK - OUR SINS

WHITE - LIGHT - PURITY - JOY

Have lots of fun dying your eggs while waiting for the Easter Bunny to hide them. Happy Easter !!!
And don't forget to make Resurrection Rolls - shown in my post here.

Thanks! I'm dying eggs with my children today or tomorrow and will use this as part of our conversations about Easter. Have a happy Easter!

I think that is a wonderful way to teach and give meaning to the secular part of Easter.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend!
